Description

Basic trust training tier 1 for Raatotanssija ´v`/

They had a saying; ''One who ventures to the swamp, will wake the King's wrath''.
Kyynsointu on the other hand, was not afraid of the tales of old folks. From the descriptions of the locals and travellers, it was easy to tell that one terrorizing the swamp was a kukuri. And every kukuri that was enough to make himself a legend among towns nearby, was worthy opponent for her Vainoharha. The pirate was seeking an easy money once again; their ship had got a nasty cuts on its side when they last time passed the Black Cavern. Kyynsointu wanted to make her best to help their crew to get ship back together so they could continue raiding.
The mermaid strolled towards the swamp with confidence. It was reeking the familiar moist stench, and fog was covering most of it. The nature was really quiet in these parts, they only heard their own footsteps. Vainoharha walked after her handler, keeping her ears perked up and looking around curiously. She was able to smell the big rook, who had left his horn marks on trees along the way. Kyynsointu stroked one mark with her fingertips and felt how cuts dig deep into the wood; the rook had seriously sharp horns or powerful neck.

Soon they reached the another edge of swamp; ground was turning more stable and they managed to spot a cave in the nearby rock wall that towered over them. The stench of kukuri was strong here, and it was mixed up into smell of rotting flesh. The ground was littered with small bones and un-edible parts of animals. Kyynsointu started sneaking towards the opening of cave, Vainoharha following just after her. She ordered the kukuri to stay outside while she walked in. It was small tunnel, big enough to barely fit a huge kukuri inside of it, and at the end of it Kyynsoitu saw a mountain of bones. All kinds of bones, sitting on top of even more bones, shining white in the light that reeked inside from the ceiling, forming a menacing throne for the owner of the cave. The pirate frowned for the stench and picked up one relatively large moose skull; this kukuri was strong.

Suddenly a roar from outside made Kyynsoitu to drop the skull and turn around. She ran back outside and saw her kukuri wrestling with something. It had brown, crimson-ish coat and large, sharp deer horns that were pointing straight forward. But most importantly, it had an unusual mane around its neck, making it look a lot more bigger than Vainoharha. But pearl dove wasn't intimidated that easily. Even if the rook had tackled her to the ground and was keeping her under him, she fighted back to furiously that she was able to close her jaws around the neck of rook and keep his body still with her hind legs. Then she used her tail to flip them over, smashing herself on top of the rook. The rook growled loudly and swung his head, scratching Vainoharha with his sharp horns.
The fight took just couple of minutes of intense growling and snarling. Soon both kukuris were exhausted, but they refused to let go from each other. The rook had his teeth around Vainoharha's snout, while the dove had her claws on the rook's throat. They both breathed heavily, laying down on the ground. Then Kyynsointu walked to them and looked down to the rook, who bit her kukuri's muzzle.
''Let's see how tough you are'', the pirate murmured and put her leg on kukuris, burying their faces into the soft swamp mud. The rook immediately panicked and started struggling, but Vainoharha didn't let go. She had had plenty of time to practise holding her breath on sea. She was able to feel how the rook let go from her snout but she kept her claws on rook's neck, making him squirm even harder. Once the movement of the kukuri started to weaken, Kyynsointu took her boot away and let Vainoharha to stood up. The dove gasped for air, alongside with rook who layed on the ground exhausted. It glared Kyynsoitu who stood next to him, but didn't dare to lift his head. Vainoharha stood on the rook, making the message clear;

The King was no more.

Both the story and the picture are stunningly awesome! The more I keep seeing from you, the more I think that you should create, write and illustrate your own story/book or something. You really have a touch with bringing the best out of a wide range of different type characters. Marvelous!

I think that after seeing this Kyynsointu just climbed to be my favorite from all of your characters.
