i Realise some people would not put George's guitar playing into the same category as some of the guys I've already painted but I don't care, I love him. His work on the Beatles albums 'REVOLVER' "THE WHITE ALBUM" and "ABBEY ROAD" is up with the best of 'em. Miss you George !!Related content

Beautiful rendering of my favorite Beatle, and I totally agree with your comments.
I think we all consider overall technical prowess in evaluating guitar players, but only to a point. Β Guitar solos and memorable riffs are musical compositions fitting a larger framework of a song or instrumental piece. Β Gnat-notes*-per-second can be impressive, but only if they positively contribute to whole work. Β
George was an absolute genius at making a great tune even better with his carefully-crafted solos, rhythm figures and fills. He also knew the value of restraint - the spaces in-between the notes are just as important. Β George Harrison a guitar hero? Β Hell yes!! Β One of the finest!
*Gnat notes - a term coined by Frank Zappa toΒ describe an irritating barrage of 64th/128th notes, shoveled into a solo just because you can.

You know, he's my favorite Beatle. There was something very serene about him, he seemed introverted yet you could sense that there was a lot going on behind those eyes of his. I really like the hair.

Thanks so much for comment, love to hear what you have to say, and thanks for liking the hair, not sure if would have appreciated the blue, pink and green highlights though!! I agree entirely with what you say about George, he was very much the serene, contemplative one in the best band ever, but boy did he prove himself later!!! His contributions from Sgt Peppers onwards are for me, just as good as anything John & macca wrote. (Apart from TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS coz it' my all time fave!!)

About the highlights...I just figured he would be under the stage lights. It seems to fit! And yes, he definitely became even more grand after St. Peppers! I still get teary eyed when I hear the song, "My Sweet Lord". Damn! Such a great song!
