I don't know who Ophelia is, but this picture is very cool! She looks at you and makes you think what's going on in her mind.

She's a character from Hamlet. She drowned in the river while picking flowers. She was insane and she was in love. Thanks for the .

I absolutely fucking adore this picture, its so morbidly beautiful. Im in love with ophelia and her story, so many people have tried to interpret it on here, and quite a few don't realy get across the message .. she's not just a girl who drowned in flowers ... But you have got the sadness and underlying insanity across perfectly ... x x x x

Thanks so much for the nice comment. I was pretty fascinated by her story, too. She's such a melancholy character, like you said, not just a girl that killed herself.

Thankyou for the .

thanks! i liked ophelia, too, even though she was a tad too dramatic. Then again I find everything Shakespeare writes to be comically dramatic. Ho Hum.

Thanks again.

AWESOME.

i simply love the way jamaisXvu coveys the sorrow with the deep aqua color scheme and color grading.

furthermore, the caustics! (underwater lighting effect)

the only way this image could possibly be improved (taking a long shot here is by

correcting the perspective of the caustic underwater effect by
projecting some fake caustics (found on the bottom of your backyard swimming pool on a sunny day)
onto the scene by using a photo of the bottom of the pool with the caustics shining thru onto the bottom.

once you have your "caustics map" (the pool bottom photo), use the photo as a light source in a 3d scene and project the light on to a 3d model of a 3d woman lying in the same pand taken on the same angle as the real life woman.
BUT when you go to render the front view, dont forget to make the model of the 3d woman invisble to the active camera.
ALL we want the camera to see here is the causics and not the model or ANYTHING else in the scene.

one you have successfully rendered out your "caustics render pass" (pikture
(your picture should look predominantly black with white causitics)

now fire up photoshop
load up your "origonal version of the photo"
load up your "caustics render pass" (the pikture we just rendered
copy the "caustics render pass" and paste it into the "origonal version of the photo"
be sure to use the "screen" blending mode

just a suggestion

Woah, that's got to be the most constructive comment evar. Thankyou so much, first of all.

Second, wow, I was trying to think of a way to do pretty much what you just suggested, but I don't have any experience with any 3D rendering at all, that hadn't even crossed my mind. Your tutorial thing should be relly helpful, I'll try it out next time I get the chance.

thanks for the comment, and welcome to DA, by the by. I wanna watch you, s'that alright?
