Sinthea Shmidt, evading James Barnes and Steve Rogers, sought Baron Zemo's aid to acquire one of her father's wartime projects, the Asgardian hammer of Skadi, which Johann had been unable to lift. The hammer, which she located in Antarctica, apparently deemed Sinthea worthy and transformed her into a powerful warrior. The hammer compelled her to free the Serpent, an ancient enemy of Asgardian Odin Borson, from the deep-sea Marianas Trench. The Serpent summoned seven more hammers to Earth, where they transformed several superhumans into virtually unstoppable engines of chaos; Sin, now possessed by Skadi, marshaled her forces for an attack on Washington, D.C. In battle with the Avengers, she apparently slew Barnes.

Skadi can fly, summon mystical lightning, and use her hammer as an energy-charged melee weapon.
