Here is the shaded version. This is the technique i've been using for a while and i'm getting better at it. But this part takes probably the most time. I try to get things to this point and work hard to get it there. But then the inevitable idea comes that it needs color. So i'll spend some time trying to throw color at it. In the end the color part should take just about as much time but I end up forcing it and it kinda falls apart.

Thought i'd post this version just to have a look.
