55The movie Tron was really a painting in light. It was all about backlit frames and color and shine. Unfortunately that is hard to communicate on a white background. So I had to put the front of Tron here in extreme shadow so you can see the glowing blueness. I hope he still looks like he's wearing grey like he really is.
Just a note. This is Movie Tron not KH Tron. While I was doing backflips for Tron world, the Tron they provided me with was not true to the movie, really, at all. He was too happy. The Tron I know and love is harder, darker...he's a cop patrolling a wasted system. He knows he's the net's only hope for freedom and he's seen far too many of his fellow programs destroyed at the hands of the MCP. He's fighting for his own survival while he knows the world and people he has sworn to protect are being chipped away bit by bit just out of his reach. He's determined to succeed to protect what's left, and to protect Yori, his girlfriend. That's right, I said his GIRLFRIEND. I love Tron. So here he is, as he deserves to be.
And God Bless the subtract and addition layers in Open Canvas

but the Tron in KH is'nt the same tron from the original movie. he's a backup copy of the OS that ENCOM used that Ansem the Wise got a hold of. so the events of the movie have'nt taken place in his world.
it makes me wonder if they bring Tron back to KH will he be turned into Rinzler?

I had a picture of Bruce Boxlightner (sp) for the face and some snapshots of the cover so I get the suitlights in the right place, in truth it barely looks like him.

I didn't get to see the movie, so no wonder I had a vibe that something was missing from the KH version. It wasn't 'til I looked on Wikipedia and found out he had a girlfriend. Poor thing, in the game version, she's dead (probably killed by Sark, *shudders* what a creep). Anyway, I love how he's depicted here; he looks like a tragic hero. It's great!

Yeah, during the data upgrade by Ansem the Wise, all programs were deleted and made a part of the MCP, with the exception of Tron, who got away for some reason, but was still held prisoner.

I love both the movie and the KH level, though I agree there are some major differences. I thought that the KH Tron was a different program then the movie Tron (Didn't he say he was only a copy of the original???) so maybe that's why his personality was different? Personally, I really disliked Yori (She annoyed the hell outta me for whatever reason... Probably when she went after Clu/Flynn is what started it...) But either way this is a nice pic!

Because in KH2, Tron had NO PROGRAM friends whatsoever. The MCP had reign over the entire system. Tron had no doubt lost ALL hope. He had been trying to free the system, as you had said... But failed. He was almost hostile towards Sora and friends when they first arrived. The only reason he brightened up so much and became so happy later on was because Sora was a ray of hope shining down on Tron during this miserable era. At the end he was happiest because, as he had hoped, Sora and friends had helped him defeat the MCP and free the system.

Is it just me or are your drawings for this series becoming more defined?

This is the most recent drawing drawing... I've had most of them drawn for a few months now, its just the most recent members and the real toughies that have been thrown together last minute. They might look more defined because i'm actually getting better at them ^^ Taht and I'm getting better at using open canvas so my coloring is getting better. But I'm glad you're seeing an improvment, because it means taht all this practice is paying off!

You know, KH Tron was my first impression of Tron before hearing of the movie (still refuses to watch just because my brother wants me to watch it.) was someone that's naive or one of those innocent robots curious and poking-fun-at humans and human emotion.
Judging by your description of him, however, I've judged that movie Tron must be cooler than his video game counterpart.
Now for your picture: I don't know if you used ink or something, or if you just colored differently compared to your other Heartblade works (or that Tron is computerized and as such, you had to make him look "3-D."), but when I look at it, I keep thinking "Ooh, shiny" when there isn't anything really shiny or glowy or whatever.
Which, all in all, is still awesome.

The movie is a milestone in computer animation (because it was the first movie to attempt it in any fashion) and deserves to be watched by anyone who apprieciates the genre. Its also one of my favorite movies so I give it a promotion.
And no, I colored him just the same as I've colored everyone else, drawn in inkpen and colored in openCanvas. Now, I did use a subtract layer for the glowy bits that I haven't used in other additions to the series, but Tron's a special case.
