Though admittedly, it gives the quote an ironic touch. Then again, if the whole quote would be reduced to its most neccessary elements, it would be even funnier.

That's true. Unfortunately, almost all letters are useful in english.
But in french, we could delete the third of all characters.

I don't think Picasso necessarily meant the actual physical product, After all, cubism isn't minimalism
and Cubism was Picasso's thing. What I think he meant was more about 'information' which is what
art and design really are. And today Art and Design always has too much information in it.
