After looking through your gallery and seeing the improvements in your work over time, plus realizing you are achieving all this with open source software, I can only say fantastic and wish I was that talented when I was your age. I think you should seriously consider getting hold of a program such as "Corel Painter" or Photoshop to take advantage of their multitude of effects and plugins. If you had those tools I think your work would benefit greatly.

Now, onto the critique. Only a few things my eye was drawn to that I think would improve this piece. Correct the abrupt change of shadow under the right arm, Define the left side of the nose with a hue change to stop it blending in with her face highlight, and maybe give her a more pronounced breast( Based on an assumption character is female). I cant offer any advice specific to the software you use as I don't use them.

But, the above is technical and subjective. Whereas overall, you've achieved a nice composition. Great choice of color palette, Well contrasted and lots of detail where needed, and I love the way you paint hair.Shows commitment to detail to that level.

This is pretty good, especially considering your age . Looking at what BobandJob said, I took a look at your profile and I noticed that you own a Bamboo Tablet? Did you purchase the one with Corel and Photoshop elements? Because I definitely think you could benefit from trying out new programs though I understand they're really expensive.

Anyways, on to the critique. I understand that this is very stylized, but it should be kept consistent throughout the piece. For example, most of the shading uses a series of sharp edges, but then there are also areas where you used a round brush with no hardness at all which makes this a bit inconsistent, though I notice you say this was originally practice, and looking through your other images, this is a lot messier than those. Also, I suspect that you used the burn and dodge tools in a couple of places and while they have their uses, it's interfering with the tones of this piece and could be easily done with a paintbrush instead.

I like the way you did your lighting quite a bit, and it's something I would really like to see you continue in your other pieces, which seem to be mostly bright with few darks, which I think makes this piece a LOT stronger than the others, even though it's incomplete. I would fix the shadow on her arm by the way. The sharpness of it doesn't really bother me, but the fact that it bends in a different direction than the arm, and the light spot on the elbow are extremely distracting.

By the way, is this person male or female? Because if she's female, you really shouldn't use a male as a reference picture, if male, he doesn't look muscular enough and his face looks a bit feminine, though not quite female. Unless this is some demon that has no gender or something, then you're ok

gaaaah I love the color scheme.

You did well with the reference, I'd say the only things that really stand out to me are probably the way the wrist connects to the palm of the hand. It looks a little confusing, like the hand is separate from the the rest of the arm, if that makes any sense. Also, assuming from your reference that the person in the picture is supposed to be a man, I had a little trouble distinguishing the gender at first. ;w;'' I think it might be something in the face. Also the neck area might be a little uncomfortable, I'm having a little trouble telling for all the hair.
