HOPELESS

“Many have suffered the same fate as I have suffered. They pulled me out from the world. They got me blinded. They chained me up like a savage beast as if not worthy of liberty, of freedom, of life.

In this dark dungeon, I succumb. I see nothing but darkness. I feel nothing but the coldness of earth and remains of people that remind me of their bitter pasts. I long to see the world. I long to see light. I am losing faith, faith that someday my angel Gabriel will come, the only hope I have that will rescue me from this darkness. When will that time ever be? I am hopeless.”

I haven’t done an art for a while. This piece is the first one I have after almost two months of resting my creative imagination. I was just busy with work and travelling and celebrating with friends. So yesterday, when I was going over my PC files, I came across my art pieces again and then poof, I am back to my creative self!

I call this piece HOPELESS. It narrates the story of a pitiful woman who was taken out of the beauty of the world into this dark dungeon where she is imprisoned for what it seems like a lifetime. It centers on suffering, loneliness and of course the hope that emerges within the human spirit in times of trial. The light from above signifies hope, the answers to her prayers that an angel (suggested by the feathers) is coming to take her out of the dark.

With my previous works, I think I’m bad at lightings but I would say that I am fully content with this one. I guess two months of rest really helped a lot. LOL.
