Do pow wows celebrate something specific? or is it basically an awesome cultural gathering?

A pow-wow is an event where Native American people meet to dance, sing, socialize and honor American Indian culture. Generally, there is a dancing competition, often with prize money awarded.

Pow-wow's are very, very interesting to watch the dancers are absolutely amazing!!

I lived in Northern Minnesota for many years and get flyers about upcoming Pow-wow's.

I don't know where you live. However, you can do a search via internet for me I type in "Minnesota Powwow 2012" and I get a ton of returns to view

Hope you can find some in your area, it's a fantastic way to spend a weekend day

I have a few hundred photo's from the Pow Wow, but this one is my favorite

She was so serious and very, very talented.
