My another dog Jyrki, a belgian malinois, 8 months old ā„He is owned by the Finnish police and is under training to be a police patrol dog as a grown-up.

Yes, but officially (on paper) he's not mine - he will get a new handler (police) when he's old enough! But until that I keep him just like he'd be my own.Ā
Things have changed a lot over time - my parents slowly accepted Sony, my dutchie. Nowadays they just love him to bits, haha. They did have some problems accepting the thought of getting another dog, and I kept Jyrki a little surprise for a while. I study in another city where I also live, but I luckily am welcomed home whenevr I want - even with my dogs. Sure they are not closely as dog-oriented people as I am, but they're gtting better and I'm happy about it!Ā
I'm also thinking of getting another dog from the Finnish police to be trained after Jyrki gets a new handler. We'll see!

Do you need to feed him on your own when he won't be yours anyway?
It's a little sad though, when you have to give him back to the police. But a great thing if you can survive it easily. : )

He is part of my school project, so the school will pay his food & healthcare etc. of course, sometimes I have to buy him stuff with my own money, like now during the summer when I'm not able to get the needed stuff from school. 
Yes, it will be sad to let him go, but I'm happy that I got such a great chance to learn more of dog training.Ā

He's kinda part of my studies, that's why. :> I raise and train him, and for that effort everything is paid for him.Ā
I'm sorry, but because lack of free time I don't really have time to use skype. :c

Yes it is fun, but it takes a looot of time and patience. Dogs are one of the reasons why I don't have the time.
I'm working as a trainee at a vet clinic currently, and before that I was working in a pet equipment store! So, easily 10 hours of my days go for work and the rest I try to work with my dogs and get on the computer when I have some time.
