This is my roomie Johannes aka ~Jastorama ! I really love his sketches!Again I painted this from life in about 3h in Photoshop CS5.

I've noticed that when you do still life paintings of people, you usually do the women facing left and the men facing right. Is there a reason for this or is it purely coincidental? Fabulous work, by the way! It's really quite perfect.

I'm sure me and many others would appreciate if you made some sort of tutorial on how you do these. And yes, I know brushes aren't going to make someone a better artist but this clearly wouldn't look as realistic if you made it with the plain round brush. And if that's how you did this.. then I've no words. So, what brushes you use and whatnot-- that sort of information would be golden. '-' Because these are about the best portraits I've seen on dA and I've seen A LOT.

Well it is mostly painted with a hard roundbrush and an airbrush tho. and the few strokes made with some hairy brush doesnt add much to the realism imo, the texture doesnt add that much. for example: even if you squint your eyes while looking at a photo it still does look realistic, right? (I still think this portrait looks very painterly anyway
