Description
Small concept piece for a French aerial pre-dreadnought. Designed and built in the late 1890's. Externalised propellers required elaborate systems of transmission which proved to require more than constant maintenance. Saved interior space was used to mount mid- and small-calibre guns in casemates, allowing the warship to provide support fire for ground forces. However, wll the external structure was deemed too vulnerable and the project was scrapped.Pencil, A4 paper. Done in 2011.
