In the states and elsewhere too, people hang shoes from powerlines to remember friends that have died. In my own neighborhood, you'll see it once in awhile- this is what it symbolizes. I take it this is more a tribute to youth and fun- that's a nice sentiment to see for a change.

That reminds me of the good old days...which of course means 7 or 8 years ago. I love that little bit of a cloud you got in there too! Adds a ton of character. I've always wanted to put my shoes on a powerline and one day show my kids how their mommy had an electrified spirit when she was young.
