Description So, lately I've come across a few photos that made real landscapes look like miniature models, just because the photographer manipulated the focus.
And loving experiments, I had to try myself. I thought this picture was perfect for that set-up.
Hope it works.

Effect achieved in Photoshop (Gaussian Blur and Layer Masks FTW ).
UPDATE: Used a different method than the layer masks and adjusted saturation and curves a bit. Looks MUCH better now (at least to me ).

November 2009

Wow, I totally thought this was a minature set up.
The boat looks especially awesome, I think.

then I did it right.
I've always admired other people's pictures that made me stop and try to figure them out. so I'm glad I manage that too, once in a while.

thanks.

it's quite a lot of fun manipulating pictures to look like miniatures.
and it's really not that difficult either.

thanks for the compliment.

hope the weather over there is a little more sunny right now. we've had a sunny week and at least part of next week promises to be nice, as well. I'd trade a couple of days with you, if I could...

nope....yesterday the sky turned grey and today we got low clouds and rain....sigh....u very welcome to trade whatever! LOL

procrastination? only with that one project... the others are for contests. a deadline will do wonders against procrastination. and somebody who loves to get update pics in between is an even greater motivation. I hate to keep somebody waiting who is so eagerly awaiting progress.

ah damn, don't know which deity to bribe for better weather in scotland...

janey-in-a-bottle In reply to Timbosteron [2009-11-19 10:28:30 +0000 UTC]

Was punktuelles sähe nachbearbeitet aus.
