Description Commission. A5 mixed media (watercolour, watercolour pencils, chalk pastels, charcoal) on B5 watercolour paper.

The client wanted me to do this so it matched some other paintings. I'm quite pleased with how it worked out, especially as I didn't have much to work from, as the dog passed away long ago and the only photos of her were quite small.

Very nice work with a lot of character - everything you could ask for in a portrait.

It's somewhat satisfying to see a good portrait of a dog looking intelligent (:

Goggy!

My aunt used to always have Shepherds. I remember walking a beautiful silver and black one, much like this one, when I was 10 and people crossing the road in fear.

She was so gentle with me and my brother, yet I expect she would have prtected us well.

They can be very gentle and very fierce, loyal too. I can see why people like them
