I like the cool colours and soft focus a lot! Makes the picture really nice.

It does a have an nice composition, but it is really a pitty of the low DOF. That really takes away from the picture. Pretty cute though.

It's because you went for a relatively high magnification. This required a high f-value (small apperature opening). If you have a way to manually set your f-value on your camera you should mess around with it and see what works for you. Just remember, the higher the f-value, the lower your shutter speed will be (unless you use flash). Hope that helps somewhat.

I don't think my camera can do that, it's just a normal Siemens and it has autofocus, you can't do it yourself, maybe if I borrow grandpa's good one I can try some things.
