well, you can always just color it whatever color you want it to be when you doll it.
If the artist wants to make the eyelashes the same color as the eyes, it's their descision.

To me the eyelash coloring is like Twilight. One person likes it then the whole world likes it.
I know people have done it before you, but since you're up there on dA's dolling community, people copied you.

I think it depends on the coloring style, if it's not a normal colored style, something special like making it so freakin' shiney or many different colors I think it looks pretty. c:

It also depends on the colour and it's contrast. The eyes on my Neru chibi base look really weird because they're an unnatural colour *and* they're kinda bright, but when I colour my own eyes they don't look too out of the ordinary.
You know what could look really hideous on a base/doll, though? Eye lashes that are the same colour as the hair. Think about it, if your character has light blue eyes and fire red hair, that would look appalling. But if your character has blond hair and blue eyes it might not look so bad.
