The Hunter's Moon was the next full moon after the Harvest Moon. It was coined thusly as hunters used the moonlight to illuminate their prey. It is also known as the Beaver Moon due to the fact that hunters used to set beaver traps during this time of year, before the swaps froze over and to ensure a supply of fur for winter.
