Description
This image was selected by National Geographic to be featured in their Daily Dozen for the 1st week of August 2010. [link]I found these two carpenter ants locked in this interesting embrace.. I couldn’t tell if they were fighting, kissing, or passing food along, but I couldn’t resist capturing such a candid moment. I was only able to get two shots and luckily this one came out well. I hope everyone likes it as much as I do.

I does make you wonder, especially on their level of intelligence. It's hard to imagine that they don't have thoughts racing past as they move about their day.
Anyways I particularly like the clarity and focus of this picture, it just adds to the scene as a whole and highlights the little ants.
