Description And another one from the vault:

This was the sister doll to the Leafy Goddess doll because as soon as I was finished with Leafy, she demanded to be made. They both ended up in the same loving home, so I guess it was meant to be

5" tall, with a beaded hair with several tiny glass fish beads throughout, lots of blues, silvers, greys, and peacock color of seed beads over a stuffed cotton form. Black polymer clay face curtsey of the art doll face mold by Sculptey.

I've got an esty site, where I throw a few pins and such up there....havn't really done much with it through......

For the dolls themselves, it's been a while since I made one, but they usually go pretty fast to fund more beads

I have a few that have found homes with me, for show, and a few in various half finished forms...but for me it's more about making than selling...

My cats have so many many beaded toys.........

I really adore these goddess figures you make. I've wondered how do you make them. And do you do commissions of these?

Thanks!

With the small ones, I sew a two piece felt form together (reall simple, front and back) Then stuff it with fabric scraps, or if there's a special request, herbs, etc....
But usually just fabric scraps or stuffing....

Then I sew down all the major elements, big beads, special designs (spiral). Then I'll pick and area and start filling in with beads till everything is covered.

I save the face for last, as it could get damaged while I'm working, so I bead a net around the poly clay face (Sculpty puts out an easy art doll face mold to use) then attach that to the neck. Then I make a small "wig" and sew it to the back of the head and tack it down where needed. Or I bead a bunch of fringe to the head for hair.

I'm a little hesitant to do commissions on them, as they tend to take a life of their own while I'm working on them, I can't really guarentee the outcome.....it's a very meditative process....if that makes any since... I'll make up a bunch of faces, then pick about 5 to "use" but by the time I'm finished beading, one of the ones I didn't pick HAS to be the one.....
