Transylvania? Romania? Italian? German?
But I must say, I like the idea of a wight. It's something completely different andΒ doubt ever been done much. She can keep herself 'well kept' and reverse decomposing by sucking the life force out of people. Yeah, a dime a dozen people's kissed a vampire, big deal, found a body with two holes in the neck, been there- done that, BUT, a shriveled up aged husk? What could cause that? This character is a monster no monster hunter can be prepared for, lured in by her looks, her smooth voice, and then WHAM, another wannabe hunter bites the dust. Only the oldest and most experienced would know of a wight. A shame they don't teach that in the books.

Maybe Poland, or Austrian. (It wouldn't make sense in my story to be America as most of the Order are atheist and therefore don't believe in necromancy.)
So make her a villain?

.... Well, I didn't think Necromancy would be viewed upon lightly by other good-doers. She'd be that kid who goes to sit at the lunch table and everyone moves away from her.... I don't know, Necromancy itself is invasive and seen as perversion of those who should remain at rest.
HOWEVER, if she is to be good, it CAN be done, if she focused more on self necromancy to keep her in one piece, so that she is still seen in a good or at least neutral light. She could lie to her coworkers, fall in love, ...... lying and praying that no one recognizes her and knows that she actually died years ago and gets curious enough to dig into her, raising alarms, and attracting hunters.

Right, so it's sort of like Cyrus and Cyrene's power. No matter how much you're the good guy, you're still the giant monster who causes some form of collateral damage. Basically perhaps a villain centered power.
That's sort of why I wanted to go with vampire, in modern day you could become a hero and just ask for blood donations that would easily be able to keep you powered and yet not kill someone. Since blood regenerates if you let the host continue to live.
(Hence why in real life vampire bats scrape and lick, they feed off their host and not kill.)

Heh, yeah, I remember watching Really Wild Animals as a kid and seeing a vampire bat walk up to a cow's leg that was bleeding from a previous cut and just lick the blood bleeding from it.
Alright, besides, I did notice her fangs. Heh, I dig it. A hero who has to run from the good guys and the bad guys. So, she's in modern day times? Admittedly, her style looks older European.
