Son of two worlds. One that has been lost to the universe, and one that has believed in the integrity of truth. This is what Jonathan Samuel Kent has lived with as he dawns the mantle of Superboy, son of Kal-El and Lois Lane, this eager young 10 year old is the son of Metropolis' finest, now living in iconic hometown of Smallville, as he learns to control his powers, and what it means to be the son of Superman.

Part of the DC Unlimited, this is a return to basics Jon Kent, focusing his stories on his early years instead of his teens and young adult years, before Brian Michael Bendis took over the Superman titles. The Jon Kent seen here is what Peter J. Tomasi had initially started with. His origins are what is seen in Superman Reborn. Born in the Fortress of Solitude, Jon Kent was raised in Clark's old hometown in Smallville. In his younger years, he didn't know his father was Superman just yet until his power's began to manifest roughly around the tender age of 5. Here in Smallville, Clark tells Jon the history of both Krypton and how his father came to earth as an immigrant. And how his earth grandparents raised him with the beliefs of using his powers for good instead of self gain. The same lessons Clark seeks to teach Jon. Years later, Jon Kent would take up the role of Superboy, and fought alongside his father for the first father against The Eradicator.

As the story continues to progress, Jon Kent continues to have his own adventures with his friends Kathy Bernard, who is now the teenage hero called Beacon, Maya Ducard, his clone brother Conner Kent, but most famously, Damian Wayne. So far what Peter J. Tomasi established with Jon is considered canon in the DC Unlimited, including some areas of The Super Sons title. The biggest change starts as the story wipes away Brian Michael Bendis' run. and the stories that came afterward to differentiate. At this point, Superboy has been invited by Nightwing to join the recenlty constructed Teen Titans Academy. With his fellow students being Damian, Wallace West, Duke Thomas, Carrie Kelley, Minerva Colter, Maya, Kathy, and new students in William Wu (Roundhouse), Emiko Queen (Red Arrow), Djinn, Flatline, and the recent discovery Crush, which is where the tension really begins. Because of both their lineages, Crush holds Jon with concept for the shared history their fathers have. I.E. Son of Kal-El has a rivalry with The Daughter of Lobo. But much like his father, Jon sees only the good in people, and only wants to be the best version of himself he can possibly be. Little does he know that he's being watched by Superman X from the shadows as a silent guardian against the Injustice Superman.

Young and inexperience, Jon has a lot to live up to with the S on his chest. The House of El has a new generational hero who seeks to live up to the important legacy of Superman. But he'll have what it takes but still much to learn
