I love it. But if the gree dog is the eye.... It's in the wrong place. It it forward a bit more.

Love the wings!

A nice dragon you've got there! Nice choice of color.
Unfortunately the images are a bit small to give some more detailed constructive criticism.
But the first thing that catches my eye is the gloss. You may want to get rid of the gloss by brushing on some flat sealer. Miniatures never look too good when they're glossy.
And a second thing I've noticed. On the back of the wings I can see a few red dots, which look a bit unclean. Especially on the upper left wing. So you may want to work a little bit cleaner here.
Well, keep practicing. This one looks quite promising!

Cheers
Dirk

Thank you for the feedback.  I do plan to try to post some better photos, those were taken with my iPhone.
I agree about the gloss.  I'd uses a transparent red iron oxide acrylic ink in some of the shading and I was surprised by how glossy it was.  I need to pick up a matte sealer the next time I am ordering from Blick.

That spot on the left wing has been giving me fits, everytime I try to fix something like that things go horribly wrong and I end up soaking the mini in simple green and starting over.

Your gallery is amazing!!

:hugs:

Hi there!

Sorry for the late response.

Concerning those spots:  Basicaly I use a kind of washing techinque for painting. Means, I thin down the paint on my brush with water to a milk-like consistency and slightly "wash" my darker paints over a lighter basecolor.
Here's a little video I made of how I do it (it is in German, but you will see, what I mean): www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvYCxY…
Now, what I want to say here is, that you can also take some of your orange paint you have used on those wings, thin it down a little bit and then slightly layer it over those red spots. Now, the first layer won't cover those spots, but will only slightly obscure them. But after the paint has dried, repeat this process a few times, and the thin orange layers will build up, until the spot is covered by the orange paint. But it will leave the paintlayer thin enough.  This way you don't just "slap" on some orange paint, which will build up in a hard edged orange spot (and drive you mad again), but it will blend in in the surrounding orange and at the same time overpaint the unwanted red spots. Now, this sure will take some practice. But in the end it leaves you with the tools to become a better painter and even develope your own special technique over time.

Hope you understand what I want to say.  If not, just ask.
Cheers
Dirk
