Description

Indiana Jones and the Doomsday Engine Fan Script (2016) Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy. Total Runtime 2h 42min (Rated R for violence and gore, body horror)

PREMISE: It's the year 1939. World on the brink of war. Indiana Jones meets his war buddy Archer Buckley from the First World War. Archer has bought something from Cairo's street venders and wants Indy to take a look at it. The thing is discovered to be a clay pendant that Noah worn in the biblical time. This launches Indy's next epic adventure to discover the lost Noah's Ark. Indy takes Archer and his daughter Babs with him to venture places like Turkey and Japan. They are not the only ones after it, because Nazi cult Thule Society is after it too. Group of occultists that practice the art of black magic and are possessed about a mysterious power source called the Vril. They hope to turn the Ark as a weapon against all mankind and create paradise on Earth for the Aryan race. Discover the secret behind the myth of Noah's Ark and the flood.

MAKING OF: Jones is back! This is no reboot or remake, this is full sequel that takes place year after the Last Crusade. Chris Pratt takes the role of Indiana Jones and Stephen Fry will take the role of Marcus Brody. We do like in the James Bond movie series, we just swap the actors. For me Harrison Ford is the only true Indiana Jones, but if Disney is going to do something with the license, I think Chris Pratt would be the perfect candidate to play the role. He has that certain charm and comedic nuances that the role needs. I wrote the role like Harrison Ford would be playing it again and thought after how Chris would deliver the same stuff, to get the perfect mix. And I wrote it more physically demanding for Chris, to nail in that Harrison can't play this role anymore, it's too demanding. I wanted to expand Indiana Jones by using the Young Indiana Jones series as a source, bring from there stuff you haven't seen in the big screen, it's nothing that I came up, the series is canon with the movies, oh, and I make few references to the previous movies.

Plot is totally original, well, as original as they come xD Some think we should start with Fate of Atlantis, but I think we need to start with a smaller story, we go after the other Ark, Noah's Ark. Something familiar and something new. And get used to that new Indy before we go full Atlantis. Actually, this takes place just before Fate of Atlantis and, yes, I will write Fate of Atlantis next, movie adaptation of the point and click video game adventure. Big challenge, but I have a good idea how to do it and who plays who.

Like in every Indiana Jones, you need primary villain, secondary villain and the muscle. I wanted to create a new enemy, combine best of both worlds, combine nazis and Thuggee cult from Temple of Doom, and make nazi cultists! Based on real nazi cult Thule Society. They are more extreme than the normal nazi. They have this inner and darker inner circle called the Vril Society, who become Indy's enemies. Their leader is Vril mage Benedikt Rath played by Michael Shannon. Most dangerous enemy that Indy has ever faced, unlike Indy, Rath isn't afraid of snakes or even dying. Secondary enemy is Saburo Sadow played by Ken Watanabe, colonel of the Empire of Japan, ruthless gold hunter. He and Indy have history, you only see glimpse of it. Indy's whip destroyed the right eye of Sadow, so he has a bone to pick with Indy. Muscle is the unmasked ninja in the train fight. The most slapstick fight ever. And like in previous Indiana Jones's all of these enemies die in brutal ways.

I'm a huge history buff, I eat it for breakfast, so I had so much fun doing this. If you want to know where George Lucas got his idea for the force, the script will explain it. History and myth is about 80% true, 20% has been changed to fit the story or invented. All locations are based in true locations. Example the Emperor's tomb, in which the China's government doesn't let anyone to go, is exact replica, it has that mercury rivers, the small-scale city, terracotta armies and those traps. I always wanted to take Indy down there. I mixed in there Forbidden Archeology and Ancient Aliens, no, there are NO aliens. I tried to keep everything supernatural. In all four Indiana Jones movies Indy is always in warmer climate, well, he was in Nepal in Raiders, but like a small portion. I wanted to take Indy to colder climate for half of the movie in order to bring fresh environment.

To sum it up, epic adventure with more action, more comedy, more romance, more supernatural elements, and NO aliens! xD And Indy murders people, which was seriously lacking in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

I enjoyed the Indiana Jones movies, but the TV series was a letdown. NOTE: The Temple of Doom movie provoked establishing a new ratingG-13, as there was an unsettling ammount of gore for a PG-rated film.

Yeah, the TV series was a chore to watch, but best episodes were during World War 1
and that one where Harrison Ford himself was, well, the parts where he was xDĀ
All you need to know about Indy's childhood is in the beginning of Last Crusade.

Yeah, I know that PG-13 thing. I've seen the Making of

The origin scenes had the origin of the hat,the bullwhip and his fear of snakes. His father himself was involved in the Quest for the Holy Grail.
