Description Who is one of the most despised characters in Ninja Turtle history?

Or course your mileage may vary, but the general consensus would be the female Ninja Turtle from the short-lived live action Ninja Turtles: Next Mutation series. Personally I'm a believer that their is no such thing as a bad character, just bad characterization, as such I decided to add the first ever Venus the Ninja Turtle figure on the realm.

Utilizing the Nickelodeon Donatello 2012 figure, I cut the plastron (the front of the shell) down, added some Apoxie to differentiate it further, scultped an over-the-head mask and added the braided tails from the original Venus figure, sculpted over Donatello's mouth and added a smile in place of the stern look, scultpted shin guards, and leveled the wrappings to make them appear as gloves, added the Hook Swords from Raphael (due to her supposedly being raised by a Chinese woman, and the Hook Swords were a Chinese weapon), and hi-jacked one of the belts from the TMNT movie figures. You may notice that I avoided giving her the form of breasts that were from the series...because turtles don't have mammaries, and though its not seen in the pictures (which I didn't realize until posting) painted a Yin/Yang symbol on her arms acting as a tattoo.

So in an effort to give maybe a better back-story to the character I looked to the idea of multiple Turtle-verses (from Turtles Forever), and assumed that in one of the many various universes instead of the familiar Turtles, there was another Ooze incident analogous to to the TMNT origins. Instead of a Japanese Rat (or man depending on the origin you follow) raising 4 baby turtles, a Chinese woman and political refugee discovered 3 baby turtles bathed in a glowing green ooze and took them in, naming them after various planets nearest to Earth (Mercury, Mars and Venus). A portal forced open by an unknown force caused the Turtle children to be pulled from their home into a new world, Mercury was lost in the warp, leaving only Venus and Mars to land into a very different New York...surrounded upon arrival Venus was able to escape as Mars tolds her to run while he fended off a large of number of what would be revealed to be Foot Soldiers..she did, but the fate of Mars was left unknown. Discovered hiding in the storm drains, Venus was approached by a smaller figure similar to herself, assuming it was her brother Mercury due to the similar build, she soon found out that he was in fact Michelangelo of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Venus: Merc? That you? We have to save Mars...
Michelangelo: Merc? Like mercenary? Radical...it'd be totally Mikey, the Merc with a Mouth.
Venus: Who...who are you?
Michelangelo: No wait, I think someone already goes by Merc with a Mou...what the...you're a girl turtle?!

Okay so the backstory is weak...still better than the original origin as follows...

Leonardo: That's right, there were five of us in the bowl...not four... (as per Next Mutation)

I really enjoyed her as a character. Yes I fully agree she may have been too "girly" but she had such potential, she had such great contrast against the other turtles. Where the guys had been trained in the physical attributes she was almost an opposite, trained in the mental and spiritual aspects. There was a real balance to it, k I admit she should have never replaced April.

I really like what you did with Venus here, and I do whole hertedly agree with you about Venus.

I find the biggest issue with the series is that even though there was many good ideas it was far too slapstick, which pulled away any semblane of seriousness

Just remodeling an existing action figure. I made it with the 2012 Nickelodeon Donatello figure, most of the recipe is in the description if you're curious.

Interesting idea.

Any chance of seeing a side-by-side comparison with Donnie? I know you have a 'Venus meets Donatello' but I mean a couple where the figures are facing the same way to really show the differences?
