I looked at the D90 very hard, but for about 1/2 the cost I got the D60. Knowing me, if I learn to love it, i'll have a 90 or even something beyond.

I have 3 Nikon 35mm also, they are still very good, but film seems to have seen it's day.

If you don't know about this site, check out CameraLabs.com [link]
you'll love it, the guy who does the video reviews of the cameras also has a nice British accent

Same here. I will get a few lenses, not so much huge Long Toms, but certainly wide angles for my sky shots.. If I want to upgrade later then I shall look at the D300, or 700..or (gasp) D3...

I usually have a policy of getting a backup in case something goes wrong with one, so I have looked at the 60, but i also found the Fujifilm S5Pro, which takes Nikon lenses, and being a Fuji user for many years I may look at getting one of those too, but we'll see..

Thaks, I'll have a look at that site - I may have seen a few reviews on there already - -but another good one to find is WhatDigitalCamera, they just do 5 or 6 minute reviews but are quite comprehensive..

I was leaning heavy toward the Pentax K20. The weather proffing looked like a winner. But having 4 lens from my 35's that I can put on the D60 helped push me that way. The D60 will not auto focus my old lens, but everuthing else will work

I know a guy here who got a K20 cos he had a 35mm Pentax beforehand, so the same thing - he uses hos old lenses on it. He says he has a slight bit of barrelling on one or two of the zooms, but otherwise they work ok. I was looking for a long time at a Sony 350, 14 mp, tilting lcd, but 2 things swung me to the Nikon - the former's lenses do not get as good a reviews as those for the Nikon (including 3rd party makes, though obviously you can use most for either), and also the frame rate, handy of I want to shoot birds again...the Sony is about 2.5/sec, the D90 just under 5. My friend has 3 Canons, and they are great and all, but the lenses can be more expensive. So I'll go for the Nikon and see how I get on with that (my dad had an F801 about 20 years ago and that was fantastic!)

Mind you...Hasselblad H3...39mp... yeah dream on, Jas..

I have a 2020, Nikons first AF camera here in the US. I also have a 4004s and an 8008, both second generation AF.

Me well i'll settle for a D3X 24.5-megapixel D-SLR

Well I write this on a Monday after ordering my D90, and 3 lenses..so in a few days the photo upload rate may well break the sound barrier

Oh nice

Good luck with it

How much memory storage did you order for it?

I picked up 3 x 8gig cards and a 12gig very high speed one when I got mine. Also went for 2 extra battery packs and one extra charger. Just looked at all that as cheap film

erm..just 2 x 4gig sandisk IIIs to start with, then I dare say I will get a few more later on..I always find it better to get lots of smaller ones rather than one huge one in case something happens to that card and you lose everything on it.. (this happened to an Xd card of mine!)

I want to get a battery grip for mine, and a couple of extra batteries.. Always have backups and be prepared - I have found

The SDHC cards I got on Amazon were like 7.5 pounds, around $15.00 US.

Ya I've read some horror stories about people going on vacation and on the last day the card craps out

Now as I type THIS one my camera is here

There's another website called Warehouse Express and they sell dual packs of SDHC for good prices..
