Description I little tribute piece of one of my all-time favourite Transformers. This can be found at the the back of the TF Regeneration One Trade PaperBack Volume 1. OUT NOW AT ALL GOOD COMIC AND BOOK SHOPS!!

----

I was saddened to see Megatron blow Springer's head off in cold blood in the official TF continuity but, unfortunately, it was needed. It was the moment that Prime needed to realise that he must finally put an end to Megatron's tyranny.

Springer didn't have an heroic death befitting of his character and reputation but it was significant in what happened moments later... however, laying down his life for the greater good - and his fellow wreckers - was typical Springer.

----

I just HAD to do this piece for the book - my own personal homage to one of the greatest, most honourable and courageous Autobots (& his most famous line from the Animated Movie!), a character I've been a big fan of for decades.

"Believe it or not, that was the fun part!" Thanks Springer, my boy!

I freely admit that, when I saw this, I let out a little squeak that sounded like 'd'awww!'

Good stuff, man. Good stuff indeed.

Cheers, bud!

When I saw the line-art for Springer's death back in May I was miffed for days...

Can't say as I blame ya!

I only recently had my first experience of working on a page where a regular character bites the big one. Oddly (for me) my first reaction was not 'NOES!' or a welling feeling of rage... it was more... 'Oh, thank GOODNESS! Hi sspeech balloons were a REAL pain to draw!'

Fantastic job Jason. I'm with Ed, they should let you cut loose on some full art sometime.
