Was this something you were paid to do for DC comics or is it entirely fan art?

This was done as a self promo piece for DC. I met their art directors at a comic show, and they liked my stuff, but wanted to see female characters.
The Death piece was done for a collector who bought the Harley piece, and wanted a sister piece with Death from The Endless (Sandman's sister).

I'm honored ^^
I don't use customized but only 3 standard brushes (hard round, soft round and "pointillist's effect" brush).
As you, I came from acrylic but I used a lot of airbrush. I do the same now with Photoshop. And you will see, digital painting is far more easy ...
I don't know where you can find good tutorials, I do some but I'm not sure we have the same technique. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions ( send me a mail
