It all began when Asura wanted some spinach...

Asura is one of those few people who can actually beat off Popeye. The best reason is because that Asura will always catch up to Popeye before he can eat his spinach. Many combatants lost aganst Popeye because they are too dumb like Goku, arrogant like Alucard, not really acknowledgable like Superman, or just passive like Blanka to act before Popeye can eat his spinach. Aggressive people such as Kratos can beat off Popeye that easily.
