Nova is a hero (although he would rather be a normal kid who doesn't have to deal with the stress of saving the city). His power over fire is matched with his equally strong psychic abilities. He is the son of Blaze, the most powerful of the city's heroes. He is constantly being put through advanced training exercises to prepare to be the city's lead hero. His dad is always pushing him to his limits whenever he is at home so to relax he often meets up with Nightshade on the rooftops and spends hours just gazing out at the city with her. He doesn't like using his powers when he doesn't have to, he feels like its sort of a way to cheat at life. His most touchy subject is mind reading, he says that "getting to know someone by reading their mind is not really a way to 'know' someone at all".
