The serenity of this photo is so strong it radiates in waves. The lake looks so calm and perfect, the water gentle and soothing. The reflection on the surface of the lake looks so stunningly impressive it feels impossible even, to a degree.

The landscape is so excellently chosen and the perspective exquisite. The composition is just right - with everything in place and beautifully settled. The mountain ranges in the background are eye-catching, stunning in their beauty and yet daunting - so tall and so bold. The glimpse of the forest given certainly makes us wish to see it all and definitely intrigues us.

What lies beyond the photo? Where will the forest take us? How more beautiful could it be?

A touch of true master!
Brilliant!

I was just going through a feature on Canada (even though this is Washington it was in there) There were many great photos however this one really grabbed me. It really has something special going on. I think what i really like about it is the foreground detail of the plants in the water. So many landscape shots of reflections in water have just the water reflection of the main subject in the foreground and I myself am guilty of doing that. I think the foreground not only adds to the composition and over all balance of the photo but it really gives depth to the scene it really pulls you in and makes you want to just dive into that landscape and be there. The plants also give a sense of movement and really show the whole fluidity of water and how its always changing and moving and shaping the landscape. The scenery of course is just stunning and it breaks my heart that I no longer live in such a place after living in the Rockies for 3 years. Really great photo and thank you for sharing it!

This is beautiful.  When I was younger, this is the type of place I wanted to have a cabin in.

Wow! that is a beautiful shot.  I recently took a short course in composition and I can see some great uses of compositional elements here, thanks for sharing
(Thank you for giving the location as well, I might have to plan a road trip down here in the future)

I've hiked alone in bear country.  Typically if you don't bother them, and you don't have something like a chicken or smoked salmon in your backpack, they leave you alone.  but you do need to give them a wide berth.

i live in the middle of europe,we don´t have so much wilderness here.
we don´t have bears around only a few wolfes and lynxes.
for me you are a really brave, i would be very scared alone in the
wilderness - specially at night.

People have gotten mauled.  What the circumstances were, I don't really know, but the common thread in a lot of those instances is that the victim usually says "I was just minding my own business."

That usually means they approached the bear, or didn't yield territory to it, and wanted to chance an encounter with a creature that is several times their weight, highly intelligent, and highly aggressive.

That's a recipe for disaster.  Wild animals are wild for a reason.  Don't antagonize them, and they'll respect you.

The same goes for people.

i guess you are right.
most pretators are afraid of humans and don´t come very close.
