An amazing quality piece. This piece makes me think of Ansel Adams work of Yosemite. The contrast difference and the incredible timing of light and shadow makes this picture among one of the best I have ever seen.
Just the golden light on top of the mountains and the wonderfully blue sky is the only two colors needed for a piece like this.
Vision = 5 stars
Reason = The timing of this particular piece was well planned; a subtle gold on the mountains and the twilight blue sky makes it well worth a shot.
Originality = 4.5 stars
Reason = Mount Shuksan is a popular place for photography amateurs and professionals alike, but what made this one stand out is that it was done at sunset and in the snow.
Technique = 5 stars (because 5.5 doesn't register)
Reason = Winter photography is hard and finding the perfect moment to get a picture is even harder still. Using the rule of thirds plays well in this picture and I congratulate the photographer on doing an incredible job.
Impact = 8 stars (DA restricted it to 5, so . . .)
Reason = To be out in the wild outdoors, risking frostbite and extremely cold temperatures is a challenge and that impact alone is admirable. I would imagine this picture in every photographer's gallery and one of the greatest.
