Did anyone else watch this show as a kid? Maya the Bee was one of my childhood favorites. I've been watching some old series like Heidi, Tao Tao, Puschel etc. and drawing my fave characters. Old Japanese animation has influenced my art immensely, I watched so many shows on Finnish TV and the one German satellite channel I had growing up. Good times!Related content

She's somewhat of an icon in Germany.
Germans even kinda sorta did a remake in CGI, and from what I heard it's popular with today's kids, but personally I can hardly look at that version.

Oh yeah I don't like it much myself either, but that's probably because I'm so used to the old version that anything else feels wrong/lesser. But on the other hand I'm glad kids today get to enjoy her adventures as well, I'm not sure the old stories would captivate today's audiences as well.

It played briefly in Latvia. Can't recall many details though.
We had a 'Maya' rubber toy, which was pretty unique for the 90s. Sweet artwork, recognised her immediately.

I watched a documentary on Maya the Bee, on Youtube, if that counts! I love looking at old cartoons and practicing drawing them. Old animation rocks. Also these bees are sooo cute! I was going through your gallery and saw this picture and went, "Awwww" and then saw the title. Super cute! What a fun looking character!

Ah yes, the bee, the cartoon that my mother watched and she made me discover. (I was born in 1993, I may not have known myself at the time)

Maya! My son watches this on Sprout, a tv channel for toddlers in the US. From reading your description and the comments, it looks like the one we watch may be a remake? It's 3D animation.

This reminds me of a really old cartoon from 1935 called Honeyland.
It was totally adorable, even when the bees were really bringing down a relentless onslaught upon the tarantula!
Edit: In fact You just inspired me to make a bee related thingy of my own. I don't have even a drop of your skill, but I'll try anyway!
