For those of you who don't know Frost Byte is a transgender. She was born a stallion and for many years was known as a trap. She never thought of herself as a stallion but never cared to much about it. It wasn't until she married Lantern and they had their first foal, Peppermint, did she realize she would never be happy is she remained a stallion and made the decision to have a sex change. She hadn't seen Lantern or Peppermint from the day she made that choice and was afraid of being rejected.

But neither Lantern, or Peppermint care. And Lantern assures her that their unborn foal won't care either.

Also as a note:

Frost has never been accepted by her family and most of her friends for being a trap and her parents all but abandoned her after she made this choice.
When she announced her decision to Lantern they had gotten into a huge arguement that led to Lantern walking out on him with Peppermint in tow and she hadn't seen them until about a four months after the transformation because she couldn't muster the will to reveal her new self. Lantern however is the only real person who ever understood her not seeing a problem when she was a stallion and dressing up as a mare or using her make up, or even going to the salon in the guise of a mare to get hooficures and facials. However Lantern is still unnerved by the overall change do to the fact she is in no way attracted to her gender and the fact they have a child and another on the way. She did apologize for walking out for at the time it had been do to her raging hormones and neither knew she was pregnant at the time.
Frost still deals with rude comments and horrible slurs for who she is. She doesnt care to much but it does get to her from time to time and she sometimes regrets her choice. On the rare occasion she will ask a unicorn skilled in magic to change her back to a stallion for the day to reassure herself she made the right choice. Whenever the spell wears off she finds herself in a better mood and much happier. Although she will admit she does miss some of the benefits of being a stallion.
