My Grandmother's garden was full of beautiful Peony plants. I took many photos in the final years before the house was sold. I'd wanted to paint her flowers for a long, long time. The forced lock-down provided the perfect opportunity. Even though the memories are very bitter-sweet.20hrs in Clip Studio Paint. Reference photos used were my own.

Thank you. Yeah, having good reference photos makes a huge difference when you're trying to go more realistic. I'm lucky, I had a few shots saved from before my Gran's house was sold, so I had something to work with. Old varieties of Peony seem to smell a lot nicer than the newer ones. I guess when they started focusing on petals and colors, smell went by the wayside. Same thing happened with a lot of Roses I've noticed. Shame really....
