2nd part of *Zenaku-Chan 's commission. This is Bearstep realism, in a fieldy place(was supposed to be a forest, sorry ) and i was urged to do water, so i made that rivery thing in the foreground. Its sundown, and the sun sets over the cheaply coloured mountains. Hope you enjoy!

Well, i use lots of anatomy references(skull, bone structure, muscle structure, eye close ups, etc.) to lay out the basic lineart, i jot down the colour patterns blend them, and use this strategy after: [link] once i get the fur finished, i add extra shading and highlights. Oh, also, for the fur, i use regular cat pics just to see which direction the fur is flowing.

Thank you, everytime I try my best to improve anything i can ^^ And thanks, but most of the time i dotn like the anatomy, it never looks too much like an actual cat. I dont mind the work, its pretty fun drawing other peoples characters. ^^ It's interesting and you can learn from other peoples ideas and characters.

Like, I guess that there's some anatomy issues in this piece, like perhaps his lower body, but I don't mind. This is still very wonderful! ^^

I know, i can see them too, like, the mouth looks too much like a cougar or something, the ears are a bit too big, and stuff. But thanks anyways No, i dont mind. I jsut have 2 realism and 1 icon commisions right now to do, and im pending with another commission.

Yeah. I have a horrible habit of drawing ears too big on my cats too, lol.

Nevermind, i foudn it if you have windows 7, you should know you can makes little notes for later, (macs have it too i think) and the note was closed, so i though all the info was wiped out. When i opened the note again, it re-appeared.

First, i copied everything above the water and pasted it, flipped it over, and then i found this option called liquify(which is like blending but it doesnt mix the colours) and then i made the ripples in a circle shape around the paw, made a new layer, made some highlight and shadows following the shape of the ripples, made another layer and coloured it blue, and lowered the opacity of each 3 layers.
