Description
Alexandria is the Head of State for the tiny nation, the Duchy of Wesslavia. It's one of the smallest remnants of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, tucked in the Alps near the border between Austria and Italy.
The Duchy was created by the Emperor of Austria as a gift to his mistress, Alexandria Himmelschmitt. Alexandria was the daughter of a wealthy Austrian banker, and the Himmelschmitt family saw the benefits of having a country where they got to make the laws. With some investment and a few favors, they were able to transform the sleepy little plot of land into a cosmopolitan center of business. The turmoil of the early 20th Century saw the dissolution of the Austria-Hungary Empire, and the emergence of Wesslavia as it's own tiny state.
Today Wesslavia is seen as the Monaco of the Alps. A haven for gambling, winter sports and a playground of the wealthy. It's real wealth comes from it's status as a tax haven for businesses all across Europe. Alexandria IV is the Great-Great Granddaughter of the first Alexandria.
Her duties as Head of State are limited, since the Council and the Prime Minister handle the day to day affairs. She focuses on her business projects within the Duchy, and her various international investments, especially her business ties in Germany.
She is unmarried, and has been romantically connected to a number of men over the past few years. Her Council would like for her to wed and produce an heir, but she hasn't been keen to listen.
