Spurs Jackson is a character from the short lived Charlton Comics series Space Western. Spurs was a Ranch Owner and electronics engineer who found himself abducted along with several of his ranch hands by some Martians who took them back to Mars as part of a plot by their abductor to usurp the rulership of the planet from the reigning Queen. Seen as primitives by the technologically advanced Martians, it was the crude bows and arrows and Spur's whip that allowed Spurs and his posse to defeat the usurper and reinstate the Queen. In return for his help and ingenuity, the Queen made Spurs her Prim Minister, though that didn't last, sicne he and his team returned to Earth with their next story, and found their ranch a magnet for alien invasions and other assorted plots.
