Megatron (sometimes called Beast Megatron) is the commander of the PC-09 squadron, also known as the Desert Squadron or Predacon reserve 3. He is one of the Tripredacus Council’s least favorite Predacons under their command due to his disobedience, arrogance, and seclusion from other Predacons. He is a dangerous, violent sociopath AND a psychopath who is bent upon his agenda of a tyrannically ruled Eukaris and for Predacon dominancy. He has a great hatred of the Maximals and a bitter, unending feud with his mortal nemesis Optimus Primal. He is abusive towards his subordinates and shows no care if those under his command are wounded or killed. then again, what do you expect from someone who named himself after a Transformer Antichrist? In other words, he is a jerk. In fact, he only has one friend: an inanimate rubber cyber-duck.

Megatron is shrouded in mystery. Why he joined the Predacons, how he became a commander, or his motivation for wiping out the Maximals is unknown. The exact nature of his feud with Optimus Primal or its cause is unknown, but at some point a battle between the two resulted in the loss of Megatron’s right arm. He chose not to be given a functioning replacement is to remind the Predacons of what the Maximals are capable of. He hides his sick personality and toxic behavior by acting gentlemanly, but this is more or less just him trying to make himself look good due to his massive ego. But this doesn’t change the fact that he is a pesky wannabe dictator who always has his chassis handed to him by Primal every day because of his terrible leadership skills or his awful battle tactics.

One thing is known about Megatron’s origin: his lust for war and hatred of Maximal kind is because… he never got to be a musician? Megatron is a songbird who loves to sing to his would-be victims or to motivate his troops. There is probably more to his backstory, but something happened in his past to make him the way he is. He is bent on conquering the universe, taking over as supreme ruler of Eukaris, and destroying Cybertron in Onyx Prime’s name. He thinks he could have won the war by now if it wasn’t for those pesky Maximals… or the fact Terrorsaur is trying to dethrone him 24/7. He also argues with Snapper quite often, but he needs the turtle bot around since he is their only spy.

Megatron’s right arm, his t-Rex head, conceals a powerful Fusion cannon that can be adjusted to create stronger pulses of energy to blow hsi foes to scrap. He also has hip-mounted rockets, but in limited supply. But his favorite weapon is mounted on his left arm: a retractable blade that is used to puncture through his enemies’ spark chambers. He can use his t-Rex head as a weapon too, but he prefers using that to disintegrate his foes.

His design was inspired by Josh Burcham’s design for Megatron in IDW’s Beast Wars comics, most notably for his t-Rex head and light purple colors. Derrick Wyatt’s style also came to play for the inspiration.
