I don't draw anywhere near enough landscapes... I think this is my first one in over two years o.OGiven that, I can see a big improvement when I compare this to the background of 'spring', which is very encouraging. The focus was on getting the feel of the landscape, the colours and the overall composition.
Speedpainting - 2 hours or so, intuos4, photoshop CS3

Where are the fold to provide evidence for the compressional setting? Or any other orogenic evidence for that matter.

great work !!! I recently tried to paint digitally mountains but i couldn't do it so good ! question ; do you start with a base color and you build up with lighter ones untill you got that or do you use another technique ?

I usually start with a base colour. Plain white is a bit intimidating to start with, and adding a colour straight off helps make sure all of your shading is unified. I try to pick a desaturated middle tone
