NCR Ranger Cosplay (Fallout: New Vegas) - Ayacon 2011I made this full costume from scratch using EVA foam, cardboard and a few other materials. Once each item was constructed it was then painted to make it all look weathered used.
Total Time: 4 Weeks for Jacket, Mask, Helmet, Gun, Body Armour, Gloves and Belts.

What filters were applied to the photo post production? The whole thing looks almost CGI with the lighting and all. Also, I'm loving the weathered look you got with the whole thing, very fallout. If I may ask what materials did you use for the hard surfaces? Thinking of making one for Comic-con next year.

I altered the contrast slightly to bring the blacks a bit more and then used the burn tool to bring out the armour detail a bit more since the light we had washed it out a bit and then I added overlay layers to add the damage and rust to the surrounding walls and fixtures. The hard surfaces were EVA foam or basic children's foam floor matting, which ever is easier for you to get hold of. And thanks for the comment, I'm glad you like it. I'm going to build the Elite Ranger Armour now from the Loansome Road expansion.

It was the same sheet stuff you use for over heat projectors but managed to find it coloured red.

You are very kind indeed. I've never been one for cutting back when I make something, it has to look as real as possible so when people se it close up at a con or in photos like this it really comes alive.
