Kaidi is born the twin sister of a brother, which puts her out of the running for the throne. She doesn't particularly mind - or rather, she doesn't blame anybody for this situation. But she does want a throne - she's clever and well-versed in politics, no short amount of cunning. She knows she would make a good Queen, but she loves her brother too much to ever consider taking his throne.

Decided to update all of Kovu and Kiara's kids. The only thing I changed about her design was her chin - I realized there was no one at all in her family she could have inherited that scruffy chin from. So she gets a way shorter version of Kovu's square chin instead.
