In this scene, Sanka's low on food and wants to get groceries but it's too dark for her to see, so Vikal uses nocturnal vision and flies her to a 24-hour grocery store. Vikal tries her hardest not to fall in love with Sanka, since as a never-aging vampire she'll outlive Sanka, and she doesn't want to fall in love with her only to eventually watch her age and die...but it's still hard.
