Thank you! I wasn't really that, 'taken' with it myself, but I had 2 positive lots of feedback(that I wasn't seeking) when I was just showing people the many prints I had of her for an album for myself.

how long have you had a horse?

Haha oh man. This is a long-winded answer!
I started riding at the end of May. My aunt's always had horses in her life and for the past 20 years she's had her own DIY yard. Anyway, she had Saffie as a companion for one of her competitors when it's older brother died. Well, Saffie's as good as mine except for the cost of upkeep and majority of the work involved with it. Which I will take over as soon as I find a job. No where wants to hire me!

its a tough job market out there. especially in the current climate..

how much does it cost to look after a horse?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JaymeeLS In reply to Nightrose64 [2011-08-21 21:54:33 +0000 UTC]

Oh no. There are jobs out there, I'm just not getting them. I can't even say a lot of people are applying for the jobs I am either! I applied for a part-time(3 day a week full day) in a tanning salon (only beds not spray tans) so all the work around that would be answering phones, booking appointments, cleaning, closing up. Piss easy. This was over a month ago, they still have the ad in the window. Ugh.

Well, it could be really expensive, or it could be really cheap! If you're starting from the ground it costs a fortune getting all the right equipment, tack, care/grooming stuff. Thousands to buy the actual horse, thousands in the bank incase anything goes wrong and it needs treatment, it's basically a money pit that you get no return from if it's just a hobby you have haha.

forget about that job. you can do better than that!

do you have any money stashed away?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JaymeeLS In reply to Nightrose64 [2011-08-21 22:08:04 +0000 UTC]

I obviously can't do better thn that if even they don't want me! Ugh.

I have like £150 to my name and nothing incoming from anywhere else.
Can't even claim jobseekers until September. Car insurance coming up in November so may even be without transport if I can't find the cash by then for that. Boooo.

keep positive. you just have to keep trying..

why do you have to wait til september for jobseekers?

Well when I went in for it in June they rang my college to find out the official finishing date for the course and they said I was eligable for it because it was before a cut off point.

So I go and sign on for 6 weeks and then they say 'why are you coming in? Your claims been cancelled since you're in education' what the fuck!

JaymeeLS In reply to Nightrose64 [2011-08-21 22:44:52 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I left the course, didn't finish it either.

i know what you mean. but i cant see how that has anything to do with your claim

JaymeeLS In reply to Nightrose64 [2011-08-23 09:09:54 +0000 UTC]

the fact that illegals get handed everything to them on a plate, and everyone else has to go through the rigmarole of even getting the tiniest bit of help. When I first went in for my initial meeting, they rang up the college there and then to find out the official finishing date and it was before the cut-off point before you claims can't be had until september, so they messed me about saying I could get it, then 6 weeks into it I get 'why have you come in?'

gah. hope they sort things out in time.. it sounds like your having the hardest of times.

And when I can't afford to run my car when insurance renewal comes through in November, that's another factor that will make me less employable, not having my own transport. Ugh. D:
