I am pretty sure that people who grew up watching BBC stuff in the late 90's might know who "El Nombre" is.

El Nombre is a Mexican gerbil character who appears when the townsfolk need help with certain mathematical problems. I watched a few Numbertime episodes and saw it as the beginning of all Number shows.

Numbertime (1993) and Megamaths (1996) were the 2 oldest number shows, followed by El Nombre (2001), then by Numberjacks (2006), then by Numtums (2012), then finally by Numberblocks (2017).

This El Nombre animatronic was built by Pete McHides in 2001 to impress his two children, who we now know as Soul and Ghost. He was later obsolete ever since the Numberjack Animatronics were built 5 years later in 2006.
