Jenny's last match ended in another failure but not a complete one, and despite many still calling for her to take it easy the word reached people that her manager was still willing to accept match offers from big name opponents. She knew she was improving and that she had a chance to go as well as she had in the past and for that reason alone she refused to shy away from any opponent out of fear that she might get humiliated. It was an admirable reason and one that caught the eye of an older foe, one related to the previous one and who sent an offer herself that was almost impossible to refuse. Ayano Yamamoto was the new Empress, having taken the role after the previous one, her own mother retired after a long and successful career. Ayano had made a career for herself before and after she took up the mantle her mother left behind and as the Aunt of Kyoko, had been watching her matches closely including the one to her old rival Jenny. Before Jenny called it quits her and Ayano had faced one another twice before and both had gained a victory over the other. Though Ayano won one of them she as frustrated by Jenny's then legendary resistance, as the Mighty Jenny refused to give in and submit as many others had before and Ayano had to settle for a knockout for the first time in her career. Still an impressive win but one the full of herself Empress refused to accept, she could break anyone and was convinced she could prove it if she got her hands on Jenny one more time. This feeling only grew when she watched Jenny's match with Kyoko where once again Jenny seemed to find her stubbornness in the face of defeat, denying Kyoko the chance to hear her submit even when she was beat. Jenny had run her mouth through that match and though she was beaten Ayano didn't think the lesson stuck and if Kyoko couldn't do it she would.

Ayano made it public that she wanted to be the next one to fight Jenny, baking on her history and pressure from the public call out would force Jenny to say yes. She didn't want anyone else having a go at her before she did and wanted to hammer down on Jenny while she was vulnerable. Many worried about the match up like they had others before it, an old rival coming for Jenny brought up memories of her return match against Gala for people to not worry, and worried even more when they found out that the match was being accepted by Jenny's manager. Ayano wasted no time taking the moment to boast once she knew Jenny would be hers.

"I knew she would accept, because she's desperate to please everyone. Desperate to prove that her return wasn't a massive mistake. That desperation will be her end. Jenny you have a bad habit of running your mouth and when you made the mistake of taking on my niece you took very subtle jabs at me during that match, as if I wouldn't notice. My niece was nice and left you in one piece despite that insult, I will not be as kind to you old friend. An Empress is chosen by the heavens above and since you've decided to commit blasphemy with your arrogance it's up to me to smite you with their anger and vengeance. I will break you down until you're crying and stretch you until I hear that arrogant voice break and beg for the end of my punishment, everyone has a limit and I will not let this match end until I find yours Jenny. Any fans of hers I beg of you to watch this match so you can see exactly the kind of hero you've been foolishly following. This beating is 20 years overdue and I intend to make the most of this match for every year Jenny ducked out of this fight."

Jenny took some time off after her defeat to recuperate and rest her weary, beaten up body. But before long, she was back in the gym, working even harder than before. So when her manager brought up the fight offer from Ayano, Jenny happily accepted. She was ready for it and she wanted to move on from her third loss in a row as soon as possible. She also had a score to settle with Ayano as they were tied in their head-to-head results and she wanted to win this rubber match! Even though doubt was starting to creep in Jenny’s mind with her shortcomings since her return, she pushed those thoughts away and regained her composure before she talked about her match against Ayano.

“Sure, my return hasn’t been going as I imagined it would, but I’m not desperate to prove anything! I might be struggling to get back to my best self, but even in this condition and even with my hands tied behind my back, your little brat of a niece Kyoko couldn’t make me submit to her. You won’t be able to do it either! Kyoko also needs to pay for tying my hands in that match, but for now, I’ll make you pay instead! I could have put her to sleep, but she got a lucky escape. I can’t find excuses for my losses though and I didn’t come back just to almost win a fight, I came back to remind people that I am still the Mighty Jenny! It is a case of ‘be careful what you wish for’ Ayano, because the only thing that is overdue is the ass kicking you will receive! Empress, my ass!”

With no more words needed between the old rivals the match was set, within a few weeks time they were both standing across from one another in the ring, the crowd sold out and packed to see another grudge match between two people who hadn't fought in against one another in 2 decades. Some fans could see Jenny was a little nervous at first but once her and Ayano were face to face her nerves seemed to fade away, whatever worries she had due to her losing streak she refused to let herself fall victim to Ayano's evil ways. Ayano seemed content, but underneath her smug attitude was a bitter sense of anger over Jenny's insults and words, fueling her urge to make her eat them, no matter what she wouldn't accept a pin or a knockout, she had to make Jenny break once and for all. Both fighters stared each other down waiting for the bell to ring and let them finally find out who was the best between them.
