Description Did this in my spare time. I decided to go ahead and attempt my own sword design like I did a long time ago. I kind of got the inspriation from 's artwork. Nice artist, check it out.

I haven't really decided on colors and such. I might attempt to add colors similar to the Ultima Weapon keyblade cause I want to some light colors for this sword, also I need a light based sword (I have a dark based one, but never drew it yet). Remember, this is a rough sketch, so some parts are uneven.

Oh, and I'm saying this. Basically to anyone who listens to the whole TVTropes thing (I don't always cause it kind of ruins the fun of a few things), this is not a BFS (Big Freakin' Sword). I may go along the lines of Tidus' swords in Final Fantasy X, though this one may be a bit heavier. If anyone has some suggestions on the size, color, whatever...I would love to hear it. If not, well...that's okay. ^^

I may attempt more designs in the future once I get the inspiration.

I have a speculation this sword is very comfortable for slashing but not for thrusting

I have to say this, and sorry if this sounds mean, but the blade design is not very good. The curve in the sword is way to off to make it effective. I think you need to make it a straight blade, or if you want the curve, look up the different curved swords designs: the scimitar, the khopesh/sickle sword or the shotel.

Outside of that, I think you have some good ideas so far, the hilt and handle design seems to be pretty good. I just suggest making sure he connection of the blade to the hilt looks solid.
As for the size, the handle design definitely makes it a one-handed sword, so I think you should make it a one-handed.

Colors, I don't know what to tell you, I think you will need to play with it some.

That's completely understandable. I was never good at making swords in the first place. I have very little knowledge of them, or just keep forgetting their designs and such.

I had the design to have a straight blade, but I couldn't get the design right. When I saw this: [link] I had the idea of making the blade curved. Would've been better, but there was a bit of limited space on the paper.

Oh, and it was meant to be a two-handed since that's kind of Jay's style, but I didn't have much space on the paper left (unless he uses his katana from long ago). I'll see what I can do.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Having a curve is fine I think, you just need to make sure the curve won't kill the wielder instead of the target. I just don't know if a curved, two-handed sword would work to well, the center of balance would be thrown off, but that's just my thinking.

If you want to work on the design, then make sure you take things like that in consideration, and make sure the look reflects the scale properly.

You do have a point...I don't remember any curved two handed swords by any chance, and maybe that sword in the picture was one handed, but huge).

Thanks again for the suggestions. I'll try to design something by tomorrow.
