Description vs.

He did the terrain, I did the painting on the terrain, and we both worked on space.

In the end, I am very happy the way it turned out, cept the name <___<

keith would know what I am talking about, lol. I might post the naming session in a journal or something.

but anyways, I am very happy to present you guys with this, and keith will be posting it up on his dA whenever he gets back, they are two different pieces, so check his out to see what he did to his.

In the end, I put his nebula overtop the 2nd sun we had placed in the center of the scene, which gave it more light, and enhanced the colors.
I just sharpened it a few times.

And the whole multicolor atmosphere was actually one of my 10000x10000px planets I rendered, was pretty blurry cause of the size.
So I just put it over, blured it more, and got a nice atmosphere imo.

anyways, as always, favs and shit are appreciated.

edit:

meh, after I got my new monitor, I noticed mine looked like total shit... so yeah, Keith was nice enough to let me use his version.

and grats on the dd.

That's some pretty kickass work. Had to blink a second; it's so beautifully made. Wow. Seriously. Great job, both of you.

It's awesome, only thing that bugs me is the pink whatchamacallit in the top left corner

Awesome work! n.n I really like it. What was the difference between yours and his version?

The only thing that bothered me was the thought that if we can see the sun... and yet also that huge planet "behind" it... isn't that physically impossible? Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I'm just curious (for one, I have never done this type of art, and I'm not exactly a physics/astronomy buff either just curious)

Other than that... I love this. I think your version is more crisp, perhaps due to the change in lighting? Either way, I love the idea, and the combination of both of your elements. Very cool indeed.

The atmosphere from the planet where you are viewing the whole scene from is blocking out the light from the planet behind the sun.

eh, I dunno...keith did that, so yeah.

and both versions are the same to my knowledge, I used the one he submitted to dA.

my understanding was that the sun was closer than the planet. Even though it sounds retarted and is unreal, it looked good lol

I think everything looks great except I dont like the nebula in the sky too much, seems too conrasted there.
