J grew up in New Bark Town with her brother and best friend, Ethan, but later moved to Cherrygrove City to live with her grandparents. J still kept in touch with Ethan and often went to visit him, since he only lived a few minutes away and they went to the same school. J's brother became a scientist in Judelife after he finished being a pokemon trainer and sometimes sends her the latest gadgets fro Shinoh. J has beaten the elite four and is now traveling Kanto with her pokemon.
